The Family Assistance Foundation and the 2009 Adopt A Family program appreciates the opportunity to share with you who we are and what it is we are working hard to accomplish.
In the following pages you will be able to read about our history, our current activities and our future goals.
We look forward to adopting 200 families this holiday season and providing the children with toys, clothes, and shoes. Beyond this we will be providing the entire family with household essentials and gift certificates to purchase food for a wonderful holiday meal.
Our hope is you will help us grow and assist us in “Adopting” these 200 families by becoming supporters and a part of the Family Assistance Foundation.
Mission Statement
We will give back to our community and provide enough gifts, clothes, and food to create a positive, memorable holiday experience for 200 families who would otherwise lack the financial resources to provide a holiday for their children and to make a positive difference in the lives of these children.
FROM SMALL BEGINNINGS
The Adopt-A-Family Program has become a Non-Profit Foundation
The Adopt-a-family program began out of one mans realization that a family was in need during the 2002 holiday season and without his help the two, beautiful, small children would not have a Christmas. He asked friends, family and acquaintances to donate toys, clothes and house hold essentials so he could wrap them up, put on his Santa suit and on Christmas Eve deliver the gifts with a holiday meal.
Since this humble beginning many families have been given a Christmas they would otherwise not have had. The man who started it all, Mike Burright, is the American Dream Team’s own team leader. Drawn to his vision, eight colleagues joined with Mike late last year to expand his program into a 501-c-3 tax exempt foundation, the Family Assistance Foundation.
